“The most beautiful love song”: Renaud promises a new album for 2026

In September 2024, he said he "hoped" for the release of his new album in 2025. But he still has "six or seven" songs missing.
By Le Parisien with AFPAn announcement that should delight fans. Renaud stated that he is six or seven songs short of completing an album he promises "for 2026," in an interview with RTL on Friday. "The next step is to write an album," declared the 73-year-old singer, when asked about his plans on the radio station's "Bonus Track" program.
"I have three songs in the works, I'm missing six or seven, but I'll get there by 2026," he adds. He says he wants to "write the most beautiful love song" for " Cerise , ( his ) beloved wife."
"She's the love of my life. We met on a Merci Renaud show, we were sitting next to each other. She had cherries on her ears, unforgettable! For my birthday, she brought me a bandana shirt, which she had sewn herself," he confided to Le Parisien last April about the latter.

The singer, surrounded by his wife Cerise and his daughter Lola, was present in May at the Parisian cinema Le Grand Rex for the preview of a film dedicated to his cult 2007 concert at La Cigale, a musical marathon of around five hours featuring his greatest hits.
He also caused a stir in Lille two weeks ago by performing "Dès que le vent soufflera" at the "Stars 80 vs Stars 90" show.
